I denna uppsats analyseras ett avsnitt ur Thomas Warburtons svenska översättningav Gertrude Steins The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas (1933). Analysen byggerpå en jämförelse mellan källtext och måltext, där skillnader på språklig detaljnivådiskuteras med avseende på möjliga orsaker och effekter. Diskussionen utgår ifrånen systematisk analys av hur stilistiska effekter i källtexten uppstår som ett resultatav genomgående drag på olika språkliga nivåer. Syftet är bland annat att se vad somhänder med sådana språkliga aspekter som inte hör till de mest uppenbara ochtypiska översättningssvårigheterna och som kanske därför inte får så mycket uppmärksamheti översättningsprocessen.Verktygen och metoderna för analysen är i huvudsak hämtade från den lingvistiskastilanalysen och dess tillämpning inom översättningsvetenskapen, samt tillviss del anpassade efter den bok som utgör mitt analysobjekt.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att visa vad några pedagoger, vid olika tidpunkter, berättar om en högfungerande autistisk elev i grundskolan och hur de pedagoger som har mest kontakt med Alice ser på henne, hennes problem och möjligheter.   Hur förstår och förklarar pedagogerna hennes problem?   Vad berättar de om Alice i ett kognitivt, socialt och pedagogisk perspektiv?   Hur ser de på syftet med inkluderingen: Vad är målet och hur menar de att det ska uppnås? För att besvara syftets frågeställningar har jag genomfört ostrukturerade intervjuer med sex pedagoger i Alices närhet vid tre olika tillfällen där de har ombetts berätta om Alice. Pedagogernas berättelser analyseras sedan utifrån aktuell forskning och litteratur om autism, inkludering/integrering och narrativa teorier.   Några generella motiv och aspekter framträder särskilt tydligt i pedagogernas berättelser om Alice.   För det första handlar det om hur man ska tilltala och bemöta Alice. Råd om tydlighet, struktur och rak kommunikation förstås på olika sätt av olika pedagoger.   För det andra kan man se en dramaturgisk strategi hos flera av de intervjuade att förklara och dramatisera Alice problem i förhållande till hur det var tidigare och hur det kommer att bli i senare årskurser.   För det tredje syns en skillnad i hur de intervjuade beskriver och förklarar Alices problem. Några av pedagogerna ser det som ett annat sätt att tänka medan de flesta betonar den biomedicinska förklaringsmodellen.   Slutligen skiljer sig berättelserna åt genom sin beskrivning av syftet och ambitionen med integreringen av Alice och hur det ska uppnås.

This paper investigates the autobiography of Damien Echols. The autobiographical subject, Echols, depicts his life as a marginalized youth during the nineteen seventies and nineteen eighties in Arkansas, USA. It also explores the years that Echols spent on Death Row after having been arrested along with two other youths for the murder of three eight-year-old boys; a crime all three of the accused denied having committed. In 2011, after eighteen years of incarceration, the three now grown up men were released from prison. The author of this paper discusses biography and especially autobiography as a genre and explores to what extent memories represent the actual life the autobiographical subject, Echols, has lived and if memories are or can be truthful.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka vår litterära kompetens genom att studera ett litterärt verk. I vår forskning har vi studerat vår egen litterära kompetens genom att läsa och analysera Alice i Underlandet av Lewis Carroll med hjälp av en tematisk textanalys med temadefinitionen av Romberg (1987). Sedan har vi jämfört vår analys med olika litteraturforskares analyser av samma verk. I jämförelsen har vi valt att använda oss av en teoretisk modell om litterär kompetens av Torell (2002) för att kunna urskilja hur vi läser litteratur och vilka kompetenser ur Torells modell som vi besitter. Vad vi kom fram till i forskningen var att vi bland annat frekvent använder oss av subjektiva och erfarenhetsbundna tolkningar när vi analyserar och ofta brister i kompetenser som innebär ett bredare förhållningssätt till mönster och strukturer.

2013 års nobelpristagare i litteratur var Alice Munro. Hennes noveller är ofta enkla skildringar av ?vanliga människors liv? och hur specifika händelser från t.ex. deras barndom på ett mer eller mindre tydligt sätt påverkat deras liv i olika riktningar. Hur de berörts och utvecklats av dessa.

Alice Lyttkens (1897-1991) was a very popular author in Sweden during several decades in the middle of the twentieth century. She was most famous for her historical novels. During her first period as a novelist in the 1930s, however, she wrote contemporary fiction, reflecting the situation of contemporary Women. The traditional view of the two sexes as ?complementary? permeated the interwar period.

In the middle of Australia there is a city called Alice Springs. The city has one of the highest amounts of daily sunshine hours and sun irradiation in the world. The Australian Government runs a project called Solar Cities, and Alice Springs is one of the participators. The main part of the goal with the Solar Cities project is to increase the amount of electricity generated by solar power and by doing that lower the impact on the environment. This thesis examines the possibilities for construction of a large scale solar power plant in Alice Springs. This is done to determine the potential of creating a more sustainable energy system in the city.

In this thesis I based on Fowler?s method of syntax analysis construct a flow scheme which I then use to make a syntax analysis of former State Secretary Lars Danielsson?s statements, in his autobiography, regarding his responsibility in the Swedish government?s management of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami disaster. The focus of the flow scheme is how grammatical constructions can be used in the interest of rhetoric?s to on the syntax (non-explicit) level of the text indicate and place responsibility with or outside of involved individuals. The main conclusion of the syntax analysis performed is that Danielsson in his autobiography in fact does not use very many of the constructions described in the flow scheme, whereby it can be concluded that the syntax analysis in this case wasn?t so ?revealing?.

The purpose of this essay is to examine the consequences following an adaptation from literature to video game formatby comparing Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass with American McGee's Alice and,primarily, Alice: Madness Returns. In order to answer this, aspects of both game theory and literary critique are takeninto consideration, regarding for example the narrative potential of the game medium and the gameplay's possibleresemblance with Wolfgang Iser's theory of the reading process.The analysis shows in what ways the original narrative has been altered in order to fit its new medium. Some of thebooks' main ingredients are simply retold in the games' so called information spaces, i.e. text and video sequenceswhere the otherwise playable character is not controlled. Others, instead, have undergone a ludolization or ergodizationwhere the story events are experienced as playable elements in the games' action spaces.

AbstractThe purpose of this essay is to analyse and interpret artist Hans Hedberg?s monumental, ceramic reliefs in Sweden and France. Hedberg is internationally famous for his ceramic fruits and eggs in different glaces and formats. A mostly unknown side of his artistic production is that he produced about 50 ceramic reliefs during the 1950s and up to the 1970s in public buildings. Hedberg was one of very few foreign artists in France, who, during a long period of time, produced monumental, public reliefs for the French state.

This paper focuses on the subject of Simone de Beauvoir and how she creates her view of motherhood. With help from Toril Moi?s method ? which she calls personal genealogy ? as a standpoint I have read Beauvoir?s autobiography Memoirs of a Dutiful Daughter with and against her essay about women, The Second Sex.The genealogy tries to understand the term ?making? and the idea of production or construction and the personal genealogy sees the subject ? the person ? as an extraordinarily complex effect of a whole network of different discourses or determinants. In order to be able to understand Beauvoir?s view on motherhood I have read her philosophy with and against the feminist philosopher Ulla M.

Enlig SCB (2010) så var andelen kvinnliga chefer i Sverige 32 procent år 2008 vilket är en ökning med 6 procentenheter på sju år Mycket av tidigare forskning har handlat om vilka hinder och problem som kvinnliga ledare möter. Denna studie vill däremot förflytta fokus från kvinnors hinder till deras möjligheter. Studiens syfte är att lyfta fram kvinnliga mellanchefers egna berättelser om vad de anser har lett till deras framgång i karriären. En kvalitativ metod användes i form av fem stycken semistrukturerade intervjuer som analyserades med hjälp av tematiskanalys. Fyra stycken teman återfanns i materialet och de representerar de framgångsfaktorer som kvinnorna la störst vikt vid.

This paper investigates narrative and thematic structures in Damien Echols? autobiography Life After Death (2012) and Stephen King?s horror novel ?Salem?s Lot (1975). In Life After Death Echols tells the tale of his eighteen-year incarceration on Death Row in Arkansas/USA. He also uses his childhood memories to overcome hardships in the prison system. ?Salem?s Lot by Stephen King deals with the invasion of vampires in a small town in rural Maine in the North East corner of the United States.  The author of this study discusses if and how Damien Echols was inspired in his writing by the writings of Stephen King.

SammanfattningSyftet med föreliggande arbete är att utifrån en fenomenologisk ansats visa en bild av hur livet i grundskolan, vid olika tidpunkter, kan te sig för en elev med högfungerande autism. Hur upplever hon sig själv och sin situation i skolan vid de olika tillfällena och hur förändras hennes upplevelse i ett longitudinellt perspektiv?    Hur förstår och uttrycker Alice sig själv och sin identitet?   Hur hanterar och förstår Alice sin situation i skolan?   Hur relaterar hon till och kommunicerar med andra?   Hur förstår och förklarar hon sina problem?   Hur förstår och påverkas hon av skolans berättelse om henne?För att besvara syftets frågeställningar har jag utfört ostrukturerade observationer samt informella samtal med eleven vid tre olika tillfällen under hennes grundskoletid. Observationer och samtal analyseras och diskuteras sedan i ett longitudinellt perspektiv utifrån aktuell forskning, litteratur om autism och fenomenologiska teorier.      Sammanfattningsvis framträder några generella drag och aspekter särskilt under Alices skoltid.   För det första syns en skillnad i hur hon hanterar sin annorlunda perception och utrycker sin vilja. Under årskurs två tar hon initiativ till att kommunicera sin vilja och sina känslor medan hon under senare år strävar efter att dölja sina reaktioner och drar sig undan.       För det andra hur den strävan efter att ta kontakt och kommunicera med andra, både fysiskt och verbalt som syns under tidigare år senare näst intill försvunnit.
